PROJECT OBJECTIVES
1.
The general objectives of the proposed program are:
-
Facilitate the implementation
of a serious of integrated project components to contribute to
the rehabilitation of infrastructure.
-
Protection and refurbishment
of cultural heritage and related works of art, and to open them
to the public use of the religion followers as well as the other
people from all over the world.
-
Attracting financing from both
domestic and international private investors, which will
facilitate the development of private market economy.
-
Improving moral condition of
Iraqi population by contributions both in spiritual and material
senses.
2. Specific objectives are
commonly termed as the individual project components that are to be
handled for the purpose of reaching the “general objectives”.
The specific objectives of the proposed program are:
-
To renovate the existing works
of art and shrines in 4 important holy cities, namely, Najaf,
Karbala, Baghdad, and Samarra.
-
To expand the visitor capacity
of the shrines located at the cities mentioned above to provide
a means of income,
-
To develop required
accommodation facilities such as hotels, recreational areas,
etc.
-
To develop the auxiliary
environmental and infrastructure facilities; such as water,
wastewater, solid waste management, transportation, energy
required for tourist attractiveness.
