Introduction
To revolve around preserving the Iraqi indigenous
Architecture and continuity of its features existence in the design of
houses, the architect initiated the design concepts by adopting some
major ideas that stemmed from that glamorous architectural heritage. The
architect took initiatives to adopt the looking inwards concept, i.e.,
providing openness inside and solidness to outside. Providing multi
activity idea for a space in addition to adaptability of that space to
accommodate different or more activities was an objective. Additionally,
privacy was catered for and to be enjoyed by users both the family
members or visitors (guests). This was achieved by the architect by
planning different circulation routes when using the house. Layering and
as a consequence zoning was fit to be adopted in the design. Moreover,
particularity and distinguished features of added design elements
projected differentiating between in and out spaces and the originality
added by the architect. One feature to mention here is that wall were
subjected to sever stress where skin or envelope of the building was
torn to expose the architectural-structural in an unpredicted way as a
symbolic demolishing/deconstruction to the walls had been imposed.
